Short answer: if you have one mattress on one base, you need standard sheets in your mattress size with deep pockets, 15 inches minimum. If you have a split king, you need either two twin XL fitted sheets or a flex-top king set. A standard king fitted sheet on a split king ties the two halves together and cancels the independent movement you paid for.

Why normal sheets fail on an adjustable bed
Two separate mechanical problems, and they have different fixes.
The corners pop. When the mattress bends, its diagonal dimension increases. The fabric has to stretch further across the folded shape than it does flat. A shallow fitted sheet runs out of material and the corner lifts. By morning you are lying on the bare mattress. The fix is pocket depth, not sheet quality.
The halves get tied together. Only applies to split configurations. One sheet stretched across two mattresses turns them into one mattress as far as movement is concerned. The fix is a different sheet architecture entirely.

Split king vs flex top: the distinction that matters
These are not interchangeable and this is where money gets wasted.
A split king sheet set gives you two entirely separate fitted sheets, one per mattress, plus two top sheets. Fully independent, and the right answer when both halves move separately.
A flex-top king set is one fitted sheet with a single bottom section and a split running down from the head end. The foot stays joined, the head separates. Right when only the head sections articulate, or when you want one shared top sheet across the bed and can live with the feet moving together.

Pocket depth: the number to check
Measure your mattress from the top surface down to where it meets the base, then add two inches. That is your minimum pocket depth.
- Under 12 inches: not enough for most adjustable setups.
- 15 inches: the practical minimum, and fine for a 12 inch mattress.
- 18-21 inches (“extra deep”): what you want with a 14 inch mattress, or with a mattress plus a topper.
Add a topper and you need to include its thickness in the measurement, a 12 inch mattress with a 3 inch topper needs 17 inches of pocket, not 15. That combination catches a lot of people out, and the layering rules are in mattress pad vs topper.

Fabric, briefly
Microfibre is cheap, soft immediately, and traps heat. A real consideration when an articulated mattress is in contact with more of your body than a flat one. Cotton percale sleeps cooler and feels crisp. Cotton sateen is smoother and warmer than percale. Bamboo viscose is the coolest of the common options and the most expensive.
Thread count above roughly 400 is mostly marketing. Fibre type and weave decide how a sheet feels far more than the number does. We went through the numbers in what thread count is best for sheets, and the washing schedule in how often you should wash your sheets.
Two things that stop sheets migrating
Even with the right size, an articulating bed works sheets loose over months. Sheet straps or suspenders under the mattress corners cost very little and end the problem. Second, if the mattress itself slides on the base, fix that first. Sheets cannot compensate for a mattress creeping down the deck. Most adjustable bases have a retainer bar at the foot; check yours is fitted, because they often ship in the box unattached.
